RMRL REPEATER WNĜEHE/R
Output: 145.220
Input: 144.620
Location: Guy Hill (NW of Golden) @ 8,300 ft. MSL
Access: 103.5 Hz CTCSS required
This machine offers an intermediate level of coverage, between that of the 145.430 MHz and 145.340 MHz repeaters.
.22 has an auto patch that is available to RMRL members. Many amateurs monitor .22 and use the auto patch, particularly during
morning and evening rush hours. For this reason, please hold contacts to a reasonable length.
The 145.220 repeater is configured to operate multi-mode. This means that if you transmit to it with a normal analog
FM signal, it will repeat your signal with a normal analog FM signal. And if you transmit to the repeater with an
APCO-25 digital signal, it will repeat your signal in the APCO-25 digital mode. Remember to enable your 103.5 Hz CTCSS
tone decoder so that you won’t hear the 9600 bps digital transmissions.
The APCO-25 standard was developed primarily for use by Public Safety Agencies and because it operates as a narrowband
signal, 8.1 kHz bandwidth rather that the normal 16 kHz bandwidth for a standard analog FM signal or 11 kHz bandwidth for
a narrowband analog FM signal, it is intended to allow for closer channel spacing and therefore more available channels.
Because of the growing amount of interest in digital voice modes and specifically the APCO-25 digital voice standard,
the 145.220 multimode repeater will allow for direct comparison of coverage between a standard analog FM signal and an
APCO-25 digital narrowband signal, using the same repeater.
